So, I don't know about you but I love it when people give stuff away! And I occasionally give things away too, just ask the three people who got lovely Pay It Forward gifts in the mail from me.
The One World One Heart event is really picking up steam! All sorts of lovely handmade items up for grabs, just comment on each participant's blog and you've got a chance to win each one.
And here is a chance for us Bloggers to get a makeover just in time for V-Day! The Valentine's Day Blog Re-Design Giveaway!

More love to spread
We've done it! We're moved in! All of our belongings are now at our new house and I've even got the kitchen mostly unpacked. The cat and dog are adjusting nicely. Sully LOVES his new big backyard but so far we've had snow, fog and rain, not exactly prime playing-outside weather. We have been welcomed to the new neighborhood with cookies and warm greetings! All that's left is to unpack and settle in!
The Bloggy Giveaway is over. Can you believe I didn't win anything? It is always fun though, traveling around to everyone's blogs. Sure could have used a giftcard to Lowe's or Walmart for all the little details around the house! But here are two other giveaways I happened upon: I lvoe A Year at Oak Cottage and she's having a little V-Day giveaway. And The Written Word's got a book to give away. Last night, with the fog and cold, I wanted to curl up on the sofa with a book or even a magazine. But they're all still packed!!

Ahhhhhh!
Successful closing on Tuesday leads to frenzied packing, driving and unpacking! This is moving weekend! And we are knee deep in a blizzard! I'm sorry, not a blizzard, a winter storm! We know how to pick 'em. We have most of the boxes and small things moved, now just the stragglers and the large furniture. We have to be out of this house by Saturday afternoon so that our subletters can move in! It will all get done because it has to get done. I expect to be full engrossed in unpacking Saturday night. First item to unpack: cocoa packets!!

Let us revisit my old blog.
I have been tagged by Miriam/Crafter by Night for this meme about archived blog posts. Here's the low-down:
Go back through your archives and post the links to your five favorite blog posts that you’ve written. But there is a catch:
Link 1 must be about family.
Link 2 must be about friends.
Link 3 must be about yourself, who you are… what you’re all about.
Link 4 must be about something you love.
Link 5 can be about anything you choose.
Post your five links and then tag five other people. At least TWO of the people you tag must be newer acquaintances so that you get to know each other better.
Since this blog is relatively new, I am taking some posts from my older blog, Weddedblog.
Link #1-This post may not look like it is about family at first, but I love it because it includes pictures of my henna'd hands, which I did for our anniversary that year. There are also a LOT of pictures of swap items, etc. so overall a fun post!
Link #2-Maybe it's because it's nearing Valentine's Day or our Anniversary but this post about my very best friend, my husband, fits the bill for #2.
Link #3-A little story that really sums me up.
Link #4-I love dogs! And this post about the dogs that have come and gone throughout my life gives you a taste of that obsession.
Link #5-This post about the SwapDex reminds me that I have a few new items to mention! Gracie reviewed the SwapDex on her blog, Sew Swank. Lots of people have added the button to their sidebar and this month, several nice people like Sue and Alice have blogged such nice things about it!
And now, to choose 5 people. Mind you, do not feel obligated to blog this, it's just a suggestion. I tag: yourstilniagarafalls, Anne, Julo, Bertha, and thequeenv.

Thank you!
Thank you so much to everyone who has congratulated us on the new house and wished us well! We are through with the majority of the stressful processes (mortgage applications process, price negotiations, inspection, more negotiations, bank appraisal) and if everything goes as planned, we have a sub-letter lined up for our rental house! We will most likely be moving closing up to the end of January instead of February, so soon!! So, we are busy choosing paint colors, furniture arrangement and we should probably step up the packing so that we will be ready to shuttle it all over as soon as we've got the walls painted in the new place! So exciting!
Here are a couple of giveaways I recently entered. You can win a $25 Target giftcard over at Coolest Furniture, which is a nifty webpage anyway! And put your name in the hat for one of four book and tea packages Chyrll's Corner.

Another great day!
An update on the house-buying! The bank's appraisal came in and it was higher than our offer so we are good to go!
Closing date: February 29
I've started packing non-essentials like books, DVDs and knick-knacks. We have had a couple of realtors and a few individuals call about our place, which we need to sublet until the end of our lease in July.
And since this is house news, here is another house picture, the living room!

2008 Plans
I didn't make any resolutions but I've got some big plans for 2008! Grand plans!
Buy a house-We are well on our way, with the inspection tomorrow afternoon. Cross your fingers and hope it goes much better then the last time we went through this process. If all goes well, I will post a few pictures of the new place tomorrow!
Make friendly with new neighbors-Our neighborhood now is not very outgoing. I want to really try and meet the neighbors at the new place and get to know people a little more than we do around here. It's not as if we don't get along with the neighbors here, we don't even have a baseline knowledge of them.
Have a sleepover-I'd like to finally have that girl's craft night I brought up with the craft group over a year ago. With sleeping bags and ice cream and lots of time to craft our hearts out!
Use my crockpot more-I feel like I don't get the full use out of my crockpot since I don't eat meat and crockpot cooking is generally meat-based. So this year I'd like to focus on learning knew recipes to help me use it at least once a week.
Host a blogoversary event-I will have had this blog 1 year in July so I'd like to have some sort of giveaway/blog party/shindig to celebrate!
Host another Drop In & Decorate event-Probably at work but maybe at my house, not sure.
Finish a sock-I started a knitted sock way over a year ago and I'd like to finish it! Maybe not the pair but at least one sock!
Get my wedding band resized-I don't know why I put this off. After loosing around 50 pounds, my wedding ring slides off my finger about once a day.
Some of these things will knock a couple of items off my 43 Things list. I've never had 43 things on my 43 things list, how many do you have?

Rainy and getting colder!
It's been rainy here in central Illinois. Sully has been getting some use out of the TWO raincoats he got for Christmas, one from his grandma and the one he is modeling here from his Mighty Mites Secret Santa.

Speaking of Christmas, I was richly rewarded this season by my wonderful husband who might have left shopping to the last minute but really pulled through with some great stuff! Getting the most use have been my new mixing bowls and cooling racks, great for making batch after batch of cookies!

He also got me more kitchen stuff, a wonderful fluffy robe with a heart pendant necklace in the pocket and some great artwork from my DeviantArt wishlist!
Of course, I deserved all these wonderful gifts for all the amazing things I do! Like fixing the dryer! I took that dryer apart like I was some sort of fix-it man sans sagging pants! And put it back together again so well that it stills works! With no squeaking!

Goodbye 2007
Happy 2008! My goal for today (one day at a time!) is to get Christmas taken down. This is the Christmas ornament I finished shortly before Christmas, just in the nick of time. And now I have to take it down!
But I do get to leave some decorations up! I leave the red and white lights up around the window, replace the lit snowflakes with hearts and viola, it's Valentine's Day! Our anniversary is shortly after Valentine's Day (not planned, that's just the day the court house gave us) so we celebrate a week long event called Valentersary. This year I bought tickets to the Valentine's Day Symphony! Should be fun!
Over at the SwapDex, Valentine's Day swaps have been rolling in. I think people are winding down from all those Christmas swaps and are jonesing for a new swap to get started on. I wish I could participate in them all but I am really trying to limit myself in accordance with our new frugal plan, aka operation don't spend every single penny of your disposable income. So swaps are on a limited budget and dog shows are also being quite reduced this year. Which is fine with me, I was trained from an early age to make do with what your have (and to be subordinate but that doesn't really apply here since I'm the one forcing the frugality!).
